V1.3 - Minimap and bugfixes!


Hey folks,
It's been a while but finally we have a minimap in Leaves and Teeth! Hopefully this can make those journeys around the forest that bit easier. Some bugs like infinite berries out of combat have been taken care of as well.
Whilst this was just a gamejam project, it definitely has a little bit more left in it for us to add; a proper ending to the level and the levelling system itself to raise your health/attack/defense, that may come in a 1.4 at some point.


V1.3 Changelog:

-New Feature: Minimap! Will show the map in a 7x7 around the player, provided they've explored it.

-New Feature: Screenshake to indicate taking damage from enemies.

-Starting Health rebalanced from 160 to 150

-Randomness of player attacks reduced by 20% to +/- 4

-Skeletons made more uncommon by reverting to their original 20% spawnrate versus their v1.2 rate of 25%

-Flashing of pickups made faster by 33%

-Flashing of enemies slowed 20%

-Fixed bug where berries could be used out of battle even if you had no berries

-Halved the delay for next input when trying something fails (e.g. trying to eat berries at full health)

-Fixed bug where enemy encounters can happen when you land on a pickup tile. If they were going to happen, it is guaranteed on the next move instead

-Rebalanced turn delay after enemies attack so there's a little bit more time for effects like the new screenshake

V1.3.1 Changelog:

-Bugfix for WebGL-exclusive inconsistencies on the minimap which made out-of-bounds areas look like floor paths sometimes

-CHanged an early berry pickup to be in a dead-end so it can't be approached from glitchy sides

v1.3.2 Changelog:

-Added black border to the minimap for slight contrast.

-Changed camera's pixel-perfect approach to pixel-snapping instead of upscaling to try and improve text error issues.
